The installation encourages deep reflection on how our self-destructive tendencies affect both our inner lives and the planet, prompting us to consider whether we can still achieve harmony with ourselves and environment around us. This inspiring interactive installation draws viewers into a visually striking experience shaped by their presence.

Using a specially developed system that simulates natural algorithms, installation POINT OF (NO) RETURN combines art and science. Advanced sensor cameras detect visitors’ movements, triggering real-time visual effects, while an interactive soundscape intensifies the emotional impact. That way the installation also prompts powerful reflection on our choices and their influence on the future.

When visitors enter the circle of light in front of the installation, glowing ice melts and turns into flowing water. When they step back, the ice freezes again. The longer they engage with this hypnotic visual experience, the more the water spirals out of control, eventually becoming a dark storm as it approaches the point of (no) return. Through this direct and poetic interaction, the installation poses profound questions about our relationship with the environment. Is it too late to save our world? Have we reached the point of no return, or is there still hope?

This installation is part of the second Old Riga route of light exhibition “Different Light”. The concept invites us to see each person as a starting point for change. A moment never belongs to just one person; it can become the beginning of much wider change. Rather than looking for someone else to blame, we can recognize our own ability to influence outcomes and make the world more humane, open and bright.
