A ferry usually connects two shores, carrying passengers or vehicles across the waves of water. Referring to the festival’s theme “The Ferry of Waves” will carry sound and light, creating a temporary connection point between the city’s waterways. The construction of a boat and sails set on an island becomes a distinctive broadcasting station where water waves, sound frequencies and the everyday rhythms of the city meet.

On festival evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the ferry will host the independent radio station and contemporary sound culture platform “Tīrkultūra”, playing a specially curated selection of music on vinyl. At “The Ferry of Waves” the rustle of water, November wind and the rhythms of vinyl records will merge into a single soundscape, inviting passers-by to follow the current, sway with the waves and defy November’s chill.
