DAWN.GOOD MORNING!

Dome Square, Old Riga’s circle of light venues

Light awakens and illuminates Old Riga. During the “Staro Rīga” light festival, the city fills with the murmur of crowds, with joy, light, and colour — a true DAWN — standing in contrast to the usually quiet, dark streets of Old Riga at night. Within this circle of light, the story of the messengers of dawn unfolds through seven chapters — seven Morning Tales that rouse the city and awaken the heralds of the coming day.

The world is awakening — wake up with it! From the moments before dawn, through the morning dew, and into the first rays of sunlight, the final installation in Old Riga’s circle of light appears: the procession of luminous characters “Dawn. Good morning!” — living light sculptures that will roam throughout Old Riga.

Light figures will appear in Dome Square and on the streets of Old Riga within the Old Riga light circle, and twice in the evening – at 19:00 (7:00 PM) and 21:00 (9:00 PM) – the figures will go for a walk through the city, starting their procession from Dome Square.
