The project is implemented by the Riga Municipality Association of Culture Institutions in collaboration with project “Gaismas stāsti”.
At “Staro Rīga 2026” children and youth drawings will illuminate the facade of Riga Concert Hall Ave Sol in the installation “Children Draw Latvia”, creating a story of Latvia through light and colour.
2026 marks the 105th anniversary of the birth of the distinguished conductors and brothers Imants and Gido Kokars, while composer Pauls Dambis celebrated his 90th birthday this year. Their work is an important part of Latvia’s musical culture.
The musical background for the project will feature “Precību dancis” by Pauls Dambis, performed by the Ave Sol Chamber Choir in tribute to Latvia’s choral music heritage.
