The arch symbolizes a transition, the boundary between everyday urban life and the world of light. It also serves as a natural starting or finishing point for a walk along the Viesturdārzs route of light, organically connecting the park’s exhibition with the other festival areas and the city. The arch’s lighting slowly shifts through a palette of colors, following the park’s unified light composition and visually linking all the installations into one artistic story.

The arch is illuminated from the inside and from the park’s side, deliberately creating an artistic allegory that invites visitors to look beyond it rather than making it the main attraction.

All the paths in Viesturdārzs become independent spaces of light, each with its own character and visual story. All the installations are united by one artistic idea – light exists only in motion.
