A laser beam is a continuous line, yet it moves so incredibly fast that the human eye cannot perceive it. Only when it meets surface does the light take shape, becoming an image, line or drawing that reveals a previously unseen movement. Just like our thoughts, actions and visions, their significance may not be visible along the way, but becomes clear only when they reach their goal and take shape. This idea becomes a metaphor for invisible processes that connect people, places and time.

Dome Square will become a unified space of light. Laser mapping will help to connect the Latvian Radio building, the Art Museum “Riga Bourse” and the historic Bourse Bank building, highlighting their architectural outlines and creating a dialogue between them. Laser beams will trace the buildings’ contours, emphasize their character and form a dynamic network of light connecting the past and the present, the visible and the invisible. Dome Square will become an impressive spatial composition in which the light not only illuminates architecture but also reveals stories that usually go unnoticed.

This installation is part of the second Old Riga route of light exhibition “Different Light”. The concept invites us to see each person as a starting point for change. A moment never belongs to just one person; it can become the beginning of much wider change. Rather than looking for someone else to blame, we can recognize our own ability to influence outcomes and make the world more humane, open and bright.
