ZIRGS, KAS AUĻO

Location: Esplanade

Being in motion, we can, through our actions make the horse gallop, or even become galloping horses ourselves, like in a child’s game. We are in motion ourselves. Between the light diodes one can’t see the horse and one can’t sense the galloping movement. Our bodies feel it. The galloping horse’s movement is created from no more than 18 points of light. Without form, material and colour, the horse takes shape in our perception. Intangible, but real. It’s not possible to describe this sculpture – it gains its shape only through movement.

The author of the galloping horse, Remi Brun has worked as a Movement Engineer for 15 years, specializing in moving 3D images and the creation of special effects in cinema, as well as being involved in scientific research. In manipulating with movement in all its forms and expressions, Remi perceives movement, as a material in itself, independent of the material, sounds and colours created by the movement itself. In his private projects, Remi tries to find a way of separating movement from material.
