Daugava promenade \u2013 favourite walk of Riga\u2019s residents!<\/p>\n

Now that the dark evenings of autumn and winter are here, R\u012bga beams at \u0136engarags too, on the Daugava promenade. The setting up of Festival lighting from Ka\u0146ieru Street to Kvadr\u0101ta Street in December 2009, was undertaken by the R\u012bga Council\u2019s \u201cR\u012bgas gaisma\u201d Agency after being commissioned by R\u012bga\u2019s Eastern Executive Board.<\/p>\n

R\u012bga\u2019s Eastern Executive Board has for many years developed and improved this beautiful place along the Daugava\u2019s banks, promoting people\u2019s well being and connection with nature.<\/p>\n

Anyone can go for a daily walk or bike ride along the Daugava promenade, engage in sporting activities, play chess and tennis, or simply \u2013 gaze at the waters of the Daugava and listen to the birds.<\/p>\n

A new environmental design object \u201cVelosip\u0113ds\u201d [Bicycle] was opened this year in September on the Daugava promenade, and has become a favourite object of residents and tourists alike in just a few months.<\/p>\n
