Diri\u0123ents<\/em> (Conductor) will offer everyone an opportunity to become a very real choir conductor, with their hand movements determining what some of Latvia\u2019s best-known folk songs will sound like: Div\u00b4 p\u013cavi\u0146as es nop\u013c\u0101vu, R\u012bga dimd, Tum\u0161a nakte, za\u013ca z\u0101le, R\u012bgas tor\u0146a gala z\u012ble and B\u0113du, manu lielu b\u0113du.
\nThe challenge for visitors will be to put themselves in the role of the conductor, raising their hands, abandoning themselves to their emotions and leading their own unique version of a Latvian folk song, performed by S\u014dla, the mixed choir of the Latvian Academy of Culture.
\nThis combination of projections, Kinect technology and Latvian choral music will not only ask us to remember well-known folk songs and have pride in Latvia\u2019s choral traditions, but will also provide a unique opportunity for anyone to find out what exactly a conductor does and that each movement has its own meaning, echoed in the performance.<\/p>\n
