The Laima Clock, at its unchanging location is like R\u012bga\u2019s beating heart, which witnesses moments when the city\u2019s lovers, friends and guests meet. The clock has been an integral symbol of the city with an acquired cultural historic value since 1924.
\nIn celebrating Latvia\u2019s 100th birthday, the Laima Clock will be illuminated in the colours of the celebration and will bring joy to passers-by every half-hour with sonorous melodies by maestro Raimonds Pauls.
\nThe clock was renovated in 2017 in honour of Latvia\u2019s centenary and from that time it has been counting the hours, minutes and seconds until Latvia\u2019s birthday. At 4.50pm on 18th November, everyone is invited to the Laima Clock, to await Latvia\u2019s centenary together and express their love for Latvia.<\/p>\n
