MOMENT OF THE SUN
The work reproduces the moment when the Sun sets below the horizon. The Sun is made of a shiny hemisphere so that, reflecting of the base, it takes on the form of a full sphere. The hemisphere of light illustrates the moment when sun has not yet fully set below the horizon. The Sun is caught at sunset with the idea that it continues to illuminate Riga even in the dark when the real Sun has set and is unable to share its shine. The light lines creating stylized reflections on the surface of water surface, are like the positive inertia of a moment. The ribbons of light emit light in a wave-like rhythm from the centre of the object, where the hemisphere is located. The light changes in the spectrum of warm tones observed during sunset.
