DAWN. MORNING DEW
Light awakens and illuminates Old Riga. During the “Staro Rīga” light festival, the city fills with the murmur of crowds, with joy, light, and colour — a true DAWN — standing in contrast to the usually quiet, dark streets of Old Riga at night. Within this circle of light, the story of the messengers of dawn unfolds through seven chapters — seven Morning Tales that rouse the city and awaken the heralds of the coming day.
Dew drops reflect the morning light – they shine and glitter like emeralds. In the dark, the dew drops are conjured by laser beams – catch them! The interactive installation “Dawn. Morning Dew.” allows you to participate in the light object. By scanning the QR code on your phone, everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the light installation, displayed in the windows of the Riga Porcelain Museum.
The author of the installation is light and multimedia artist Ričijs Pūciņa—a pseudonym behind which an intriguing personality resides. Having participated in several light festivals across Latvia, this time Ričijs brings illumination to Konventa Sēta.
