Light awakens and illuminates Old Riga. During the “Staro Rīga” light festival, the city fills with the murmur of crowds, with joy, light, and colour — a true DAWN — standing in contrast to the usually quiet, dark streets of Old Riga at night. Within this circle of light, the story of the messengers of dawn unfolds through seven chapters — seven Morning Tales that rouse the city and awaken the heralds of the coming day.

This is the moment before — the moment before dawn — soon the world will burst into shades of red, orange, and sun-yellow — morning is approaching. The modular installation created by light artist Kristaps Bunga transforms the familiar environment of the Latvian Riflemen Square, allowing colourful light images to be created on a large-scale light matrix.
