PIXEL GARDEN. ETERNAL LIVING ROOM

Vērmanes Park Stage

“The Eternal Living Room” offers visitors an intimate journey through the pages of Baltic culture preserved over 500 years and honouring the families who served as true “heralds of dawn” – bringing light during the dark times and ensuring cultural continuity for generations to come. Every living room had a place where during the darkest times hope was maintained, knowledge accumulated and cultural identity forged and passed on.

The projection was created in collaboration with Estonian artist Alyona Movko-Mägi and composer Maksim Adel, honouring both the shared Estonian and Latvian experience and the living spaces of culture, creating a strong link between the revolutionary moment when the first printed words appeared and the current hope for the preservation and continuity of our culture.

Alyona Movko-Mägi is an Estonian artist and designer whose work combines light, video and spatial composition in theatres, large-scale events and contemporary art. With a background in audiovisual composition, scenography and crafts, she creates impressive visual worlds combining projection mapping, light installations and tactile materials.
