OUT OF BALANCE
Installation “Out of Balance” invites us to reflect on the fragility of the balance between man and nature. Two metal sculptures – giant, precisely crafted mosquitoes, illuminated with LED lights, symbolize man’s impact on the environment and our place in the natural ecosystems. The installation prompts the observer to stop and see the seemingly bothersome and annoying creature in a different light – as a fundamental part of the ecological balance. Each mosquito is created with amazing precision and proportions, turning into a poetic reminder of the role of man in the survival of the planet Earth.
The artistic idea of the installation is based on reflections on human choices and consequences they might have. It creates a meditative environment in which light, metal and plastic form create a harmonious but fragile balance between life and its threat, between presence and loss of balance.
The authors of the artwork are Silviu Ciora and Dr. Manuel García-Ruiz from studio Amourg (Romania/Portugal), they work with a synthesis of sculpture, light and environmental art and regularly participate in international light festivals in Europe.
