LANDMARK
“Landmark” is a light and fog installation that embodies the transition of the human inner world from darkness to light, from confusion to clarity, reflecting the interaction of nature and human.
The idea for the installation popped up from the author’s personal experience working as a guide on sunrise adventures trail in the Pieriga swamps. On these mornings, the fog covering the swamp lakes becomes an integral companion to each sunrise. It hides and uncovers at the same time, creating a mysterious intermediate state – a moment when it is not yet day, but no longer night either. This transition between darkness and light is at the heart of the installation.
“Landmark” symbolizes the moment of a person’s inner transformation – a situation when uncertainty, confusion or changes obscure the direction, much like fog in a swamp. The appearance of light in this fog becomes a landmark – a guiding sign that helps to regain balance and move forward.
The work invites the viewer to experience this moment as a meditative transition – to breathe in rhythm with nature, to surrender to light and silence, to discover oneself through interaction with the surrounding environment. Landmark is a call to live in harmony with the rhythms and processes of nature, reminding us that humans are an integral part of it. It is an experience that simultaneously reveals both the outer and inner worlds – a transition that brings strength to a new beginning.
