BABY MAKER

Riga Makerspace, Aristīda Briāna Str. 13, fasade of the building from Alojas Str.

“Baby Maker” is a light and sound installation centered around a moving projection of baby images on the façade of the Riga Makerspace building. The installation visualizes a swarm of babies crawling up the building, creating a symbolic narrative about the beginning of life, the impulse of creativity, and the arrival of a new generation into the world.

The work draws inspiration from the Riga Maternity Hospital, located near the installation site. The baby figures moving from that building toward Riga Makerspace symbolize the entry of a new generation into society. Their upward movement along the façade reflects human development and the desire to reach new heights.

The babies seemingly to enter the building through windows and crevices, forming a visual metaphor for the transition from birth to creative activity — from physical existence to the realm of ideas.

The installation invites viewers to reflect on the cyclical nature of change and on how each new generation brings new perspectives, energy, and light into the world. It is a visual message about life, creativity, and the potential of the future.
