42 THE SUN AT NIGHT

SOLEIL NUIT is a kinetic sculptural artwork by French artist Sebastien Lefevre, consisting of two circles with more than 5000 mirrored elements. Moved by the wind, they are in constant motion, creating thousands of shifting, coloured reflections that evoke vibrancy characteristic to Impressionist paintings.

Every gust of wind creates a new composition in this painting of light, one that will never be repeated, each exists for just a single moment.

This light installation is the heart of the Viesturdārzs exhibition, the point where all the park routes converge and the light reaches its greatest intensity.
