The mirrored disco-ball installation symbolizes light and memory. The disco-ball serves a bridge between the past and the present. Reflected from its many surfaces, beams of light break into hundreds of tiny points of light. They dance among the trees, touch the ground and reach the people around them. Each tiny light represents a moment, a memory or a feeling. “Staro Riga” was first held in 2008. A musical journey will travel through the time of light, where each song becomes a key to a personal memory. For one person, it may be childhood, for another – the first love, and for someone else – family celebrations and friends’ laughter. Music gives light its rhythm, while the mirrored reflections capture people creating together a living story of memories of light.
