12 PEACE IN THE WORLD. HUMAN.

In context of all the current world events, the reflections formulated 70 years ago by psychoanalyst, philosopher and social-psychologist Erich Fromm are particularly relevant. He argued that excessive nationalism distorts “love of country”. Rather than being part of a human, fraternal love for all people, it becomes a form of idol worship. He wrote: “Love of one’s country that is not part of love for humanity is not love. It is similar to individual narcissism: a person (or nation) overvalues his own group, considers it superior and often devalues “others”.”

A poetic story of light, created with installed lightning equipment on multiple planes, will be accompanied by a new electronic music composition.

This is an artwork in the first Old Riga route of light. In the exhibition of nine light artworks “Moment of Love”, the artists seek their own moments of love and definitions of love.
