We live in a cultural space increasingly described with the prefix “post–”: a post-digital, post- internet, post-truth and post-human reality where images, messages and identities overlap continuously, are rewritten and lose their original meaning. “Post –” describes not only what comes after something, but also what remains – the impression caused by an image, a gesture or a person’s presence.

The light and participatory installation “After You, After Me” turns this question into a collective process, inviting visitors to create a temporary community self-portrait. Handwritings of different people, ideas and impulses overlap and transform, partly erase one another and leave new traces. The work is never finished and does not belong to a single author.

The installation takes place in the courtyard of the RSU Anatomy Museum, where the human being and the traces we leave on the body, in memory and in society are the focus of daily study. The work continues this theme and invites us to consider what each of us leaves behind and how our presence changes what already exists.

Does the process of creation feel different when you know that what you create will soon disappear?

Project partners: “Don’t Panic Design Solutions” Ltd. and the RSU Anatomy Museum.

This is one of the artworks in the Ave Sol route of light. The overall concept symbolizes the transition from individual presence to collective action. In this way the festival theme unum momentum is revealed as a moment that arises between people, continues after us and gains strength when individual action becomes a shared movement.
