Language is the thing that creates one of the strongest feelings of being at home. From Latvian folk songs to contemporary poetry, from archaisms to contemporary expressions, from the wind-born language of Kurzeme to the language resounding in the lakes and hills of Latgale. Our language is unique and it belongs to us – as fast-flowing as a spring stream, as sharp as a weed, as warm as the sun, as cold as the frost in February, as soft as hay. Our language is what makes us feel at home.
The 360-degree video projection on the fountain installation encourages us to think and find the feeling of being at home in our language. The video projection incorporates a composition by Raimonds Tiguls.
