MIRDZA AND SKAIDRIS
Kalnciema Street 35
It is people that create a location’s identity, characterising it in their emotions, stories and sense of belonging. The Mirdza and Skaidris light installation is a special compilation of photos of visitors to the Kalnciems kvartāls that will engender the ambience of a warm summer night with the air filled with chatter and mirth.
The retrospective section will consist of projections of portraits of smiling visitors to the quarter, from the Kalnciems kvartāls photo archives. They will be supplemented by an inflatable latex ensemble of sculptures 1 +1 = 5 created by a Finnish artists Andy Best and Merja Puustinen. On 17 and 18 November, every visitor will have an opportunity to be immortalised and join the happy throngs projected in the interactive section.
