PRESENCE
Wherever you are, I’m not that far behind.
The feeling of presence is an integral need of a human as a social being both in everyday life and special festive moments. No matter what happens outside, the most important content is always within us, next to us – in our presence and in our presence to others. It is a continuous interaction that allows us to live and be in harmony with ourselves and the world, both in quiet conversations and in jubilant moments of joy, as well as in a shared sense of presence.
An audiovisual space of presence will be created in Arkādija Park by artist Anna Heinrihsone, composer Jēkabs Nīmanis and everyone present, thus creating a unique sense of togetherness and presence. Let the name of Arkādija Park will once again remind us of our shared dreams, of the land of happiness, of those feelings that the name of Arkādija has delivered since ancient times.
In the picturesque landscape of Arkādija Park, where the Mārupīte River meanders charmingly, three different audiovisual installations will be placed between its cascades, which will allow us to experience and surrender to the presence. The delicate charcoal drawings of the artist Anna Heinrihsone will bring us to the world of the continuity of the flow of time, as if allowing us to make a journey from the very first images created by a human to the moving audiovisual drawing. Two meditative, the feeling of presence inducing environmental objects will make somebody stop, thus stopping time for a moment, another one will let himself be carried away by the whirlwind of flight or feel the presence on the path of the unstoppable flow of time. The feelings aroused by all three installations will be enhanced by musical accompaniment created by composer Jēkabs Nīmanis.
