I CAN SEE BUT CAN’T UNDERSTAND
Jāņa Sēta Courtyard
The installation “I can see but can’t understand” by the new artist and participant of the “Baltic Light Chain” project Kadi-Maarja Võsu is a plexiglas box filled with lamps that form an inscription in Braille. The inscription in Estonian means “The blind looks”. Plexiglas dispels the fundamental principle of Braille – it is visible, but cannot be read by touch. Information is available, but it is impossible to understand. The object was previously exhibited in the Tallinn Light Festival.
