Spirituality is different for each of us – we all try to understand the deeper meaning of things and events in our journey of life. For centuries, spirituality and the ability to believe has guided our people through glorious moments of history as well as through the darkest times. For some, it is believing in God, for others – believing in their own personal and shared national dreams, but, for everyone together, it is a clean conscience, a light in their hearts and thoughts.
The façade of Riga St. Gertrude Old Church tells the story of the building using only light accompanied by the composition “Dvēseles dziesma” (“The Song of the Soul”) by Ēriks Eišenvalds and Anita Kārkliņa.
