Light installation based on traditions
The coloured symbols of the light object reflect on a person’s individual and national identity. The green refers to stability and balance which creates a feeling of belonging and the historical memory of humanity. The red symbolizes dynamism, the energy of the present, lust for life, willpower and innovation, but the blue represents peace, independence and wisdom. The braid motif, which can be encountered historically in the experience and concepts of Latvian identity, has been updated in a contemporary context in sculptor Lauris Vītoliņš’ artistic performance, using modern technological options.
