“Word” is a step towards understanding and an opportunity to find a common language. Despite Europe’s cultural and linguistic diversity, we ,Europeans, are united by common values; we understand each other in the languages of human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights.
In preparation for Latvia’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2015, we follow the path from the naissance of a thought to it being an idea expressed in words, implemented and mutually protect. In this case, it is the idea of the European Union. An idea about peace. In all the official languages of the European Union, the word peace stands for the idea of peaceful co-existence.
