The founder of Ziemeļblāzma, patron of arts Augusts Dombrovskis would turn 170 this year and his best friend and contemporary Krišjānis Barons – 180. The Northern Star has joined these people in the creative expression, has made them reach for new challenges and freedom. The environment object “Shine with the Stars” is the eternal, unfading shine of two remarkable personalities, two stars – from history to nowadays, it is depicted in video projections, collages of film fragments and an interplay of lights. Many locals feel the Ziemeļblāzma park and palace as a personal place of culture and recreation. And that was the goal of Augusts Dombrovskis – to create an environment that would appeal to people, that would be open, multi-purpose and comfortable, that people would feel as their own, feel free, easy and cosy in – just like home.
